No nonsense wall-writings of an "AnJOLINA" Jolie fan and a Catholic school-girl gone bad. Both live in a world of endless changes joined by common ideals and opinions regarding things--bitchy, stupid and real.

Letters from the Fishbowl

I'm watching Ms. Saigon tonight. I hope I'm properly prepared (is there such an expression?) I've taken the necessary precautions that the people have been emailing :
1. don't bring your phone
2. eat before watching
3. come early if you don't have a driver so you won't have trouble parking and walking towards CCP (in 3-inch heels? sheesh)
4. pee waaay before the show starts as the line to the washroom during the intermission is unforgiving
5. ask all your friends who've watched saigon earlier what the other people were wearing to make sure your neither under nor overdressed (i'm wearing a nice red blouse and a black skirt, black heels and red nail polish. puwede na kaya? i ditched the long black dress as we might eat out afterwards and i wouldn't want to sashay across the restaurant isle like some girl feeling like a diva, diba?)

Let my P2,575 ticket (didn't think it was THAT worth paying P4,500 for 3 people) be worth the wait......I'm finally going to hear the songs I loved during my "I wannabe a singer so I'm taking voice lessons" stage....Sun and Moon, Last Night of The World (which I was stupid enough to think was entitled A Song Played on a Solo Saxophooooone), and Bui Doi. And one last wish, I hope it's Lea Salonga doing Kim when we watch. I have nothing against her alternate, Ces Campos, but I've grown up WANTING to see Lea perform. Hala sila, if it's not Lea, my Mom just might make lupasay on the lush carpet of the CCP (she's a forever Lea fanatic). Please God, spare me from that, OK?

Today's Weather Forecast...KINKY WEATHER!

I'm psychic...as I look at my discarded Casino Filipino playing cards, I feel like the sun will be out today...
I feel hot...am I coming down with a fever? Or a flu perhaps? I hope not, I do hope it's just natural horniness that's making me hot. Hehehehe. I don't feel like blogging today...I feel so alone...

Nikki, you catholic-schoolgirl gone bad better buy a new prepaid internet card from the priests soon! I feel stupid bloggin here alone. Though you will have denied access to those kinky and porn sites, at least you'll be able to put your kinky thoughts here...our own KINKYDOM! Yuck! It sounds like Enchanted Kingdom...

I hope we could go out soon, but you'll be starting with work on Monday which means less time to go gimmick and back to school for me. Do you have plans for later?

I Felt Like a Caveman Today

Sheeesh! I went to bed a bit late last night (around 1:20 am) only to be awaken by a strong gusts of cold wind at around 3 am. I even left the comp turned on as I heard the MP3 being played was R.E.M's “It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine).” It was really like the end of the world! I didn't know a storm was coming toward the metro...no one informed me! Duh!? I even headed out that day to the mall and watched a movie...
Then I just fell asleep from too much fright! I woke up and everything was quiet except for the sound of the drizzling rain. I thought everything was just a dream but knowing later that there was no electricity and the floodwaters in the streets was knee-deep. Shit! No electricity, therefore no cable TV and Internet. The streets were flooded hence I can't go anywhere. And I have no cellphone signal so I couldn't text. What am I to do? I just wanted to die...

That Jazzy Voice

I love Cultured Pearls. When I hear their song "Not This Time" while I'm driving in my car I feel like I go into a trance....the intro especially is so soothing. I would kill to have a voice like that. Or maybe a voice like that of the lead singer for M People. They do sound alike don't they?

Cultured Pearls and the Legacy of Pearls

I love Cultured Pearls...
I think I'm going to buy their CD as soon as I get some money. As of the moment, I have to content myself with some of their songs that are in MP3 format. I like them, though I really don't have the slightest idea what they look like. I really haven’t seen them in MTV yet. But I like their voice and their style. It's somehow soothing to the senses. Somewhat jazzy but not really. Anyway, I really like them.

Not going any further from the topic of pearls, what's the deal with black pearls and pearl shakes proliferating lately in the metro and nearby providences (a term referring to provinces)? The small time sago at gulaman drink has been a thirst quencher for the ordinary Juan for quite some time but lately the sago went solo had a major face-lift and became a recent hit to people from all walks of life. Some entrepreneurs came up with the innovative idea of giving the sago a new product package and introduced it in a new form of a drink. A little of artificial flavoring, crushed ice, and a fancy cup with a fat straw and there came the birth of the PEARL SHAKES!
Funny ‘coz I didn’t realize till last week on my way home from school that I came upon not one but six pearl shake stalls three of which were along Katipunan Avenue. And you see the ingenuity of the Filipinos on how they come up with such catchy names for their own stalls such as "Let's Go Sago!", "Shagidee-shagidee-sha-po-po", “Yehey Sago”, “Zagu”, “Orbitz”, and many more. You wouldn’t just see these in the malls anymore but anywhere as long as there is some space for some Osterizers (hmmm, no product placements please-->blenders) and a few people to work with.
The key players in this business include Edward S. Lim and Genevieve G. Lim of Zagu and Rico Yan of Orbitz. Oh well, let's just hope that these things are here to stay. But as of now, these two are leading and many are still racing to be ahead of the rest.
Everyone is jumping into the bandwagon without putting much thought on what they are getting into. The same goes with the experience we had for shawarma and our backyard cottage industry of nata-de-coco, it will happen as for pearl shakes (I hope not!). It makes me wanna look at it like Charles Darwin’s theory of survival of the fittest exemplified here. Only the strong will remain and all the not so strong (obviously) will suffer and die with the passing of time. I pity those people. For in this time of political and economic turmoil, you really can’t say that those who are here now will still be here in the days to come. I don’t wanna point my finger and blame on anybody…though I think people have the slightest idea who that person is. I think I’m in the mood to bash on ERAP…nah, I’ll do that some other time.
Going back to pearl shakes, the reason why it is making big waves here in the country is because it is something new for the Filipino palate. Though I think the concept had basically originated somewhere else as it also became a fad in other countries a few years back, the idea of creating flavors both new and familiar to the Filipinos was a big plus factor for the drink’s wide acceptance by the people. A thought though, many are insinuating that these powders are mad of carcinogenic materials and we should vow to stay away from these. Pero naman people… if we were to do that, we might as well not eat processed meat (tocino, ham, longganisa, tapa) and others which contain preservatives proven to be cancer causing agents. It isn’t a real viable option knowing that almost all of the foods we eat have been banned from other countries in one way or is just plainly cancer causing. The best thing to do I guess is that I learned from one Spice Girls that “too much of one thing is bad enough.” Since nothing can be proven as of this time, taking everything in moderation is acceptable.

mixed up thoughts. (read: mga naisip ko lang and it doesn't mean there's continuity and sense in what you're about to read)

before you assume it's daniel....uh, it's me, the other one. nikki yep...mememe. well, um, success ba danes? i'm still figuring out how to do the joint blog thing.....speaking of the joint. i need one. *pretends to make hithit-buga* wonder what it feels like.

hey, the other day, daniel texted me two songs that he said he really liked....which i totally forgot. anyway, a song that makes me lift my butt of this chair and go to the nearest record bar and buy the CD is the song As If by Blaque from the cheerleading movie Bring It On (which by the way, made me like Eliza Dushku and not Kirsten Dunst. Eliza is sooo much prettier).

I am cherishing the last of my freedom for i will journey into the doomed land known as the "real world". Yes, I will start working and right now I think I have to start from scratch with my work wardrobe. I just peeked into my closet and i have 2, yes 2 business outfits and the rest are all t-shirts and jeans.....
